Richards College of Business students got into the holiday giving spirit early this year by competing in the college’s annual Cans for a Cause food drive.
Each year, the Richards College of Business hosts a contest between the business clubs, encouraging students to compete to bring the most cans. Donations benefited the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. This year, students’ collections totaled 710 cans or non-perishable food items. Management Club won first place by collecting 347 cans. Their prize was $200 to put toward their club’s activities. Marketing Club took second place, and $100, for collecting 247 cans. The Economics Club and Enactus Club collected 60 and 56 cans, respectively, and each took home $50 checks for their clubs.
The 710 cans were delivered to the Carroll County Soup Kitchen on Nov. 16 directly after the contest.
Thanks to all the students who donated their time and efforts for such a great cause.
