Overview

The audition consists of a prepared monologue and a prepared song. “Prepared” means both pieces are memorized, rehearsed, and demonstrate character development.

Monologue Requirements

• Length: approximately one minute
• Style: comic or serious
• Source: contemporary play

Song Requirements

• Tempo: uptempo or ballad
• Prepare: 32 bars (uptempo) or 16 bars (ballad)
• Repertoire: from a musical (should show your vocal range)
• Bring: recorded instrumental track (a Bluetooth speaker will be provided)

• Performs: September 30–October 4

Songs & Stories: A Cabaret 2026: Home

• Rehearses: August 17–September 18, three days per week; September 21–November 10, Mondays–Fridays, 6:30–10:00 p.m.; Saturdays 1:00–4:30 p.m.
• Performs: November 11–15
