Association for Computing Machinery


ACM brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share
resources, and address the field's challenges. As the world’s largest computing society, ACM strengthens
the profession's collective voice through strong leadership, promotion of the highest standards, and
recognition of technical excellence. ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing
opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking.
Association for Computing Machinery for Women


ACM-W’s core mission is to celebrate, inform, and support women in computing.

Chemistry Association

The Chemistry Association at the University of West Georgia aims to provide an inviting environment for
all students interested in chemistry. It is the goal of the club to encourage students to learn more about
the chemistry-related careers they may pursue and how they may better prepare for said careers.

Community Garden Club

Grow a sustainable gardening community among students; engage students about plant identification,
planting, and conservation through hands-on activities and learning; foster personal responsibility for the
garden; establish the garden as a communal space--a place to be welcomed in nature; provide a space
to learn from and teach fellow students about gardening.

Emerging Health Leaders

We are an organization that aims to produce the next generation of future healthcare leaders that will
strive to change all healthcare fields for the better. Our mission is to serve not only our community, but
also other that EHL chapters are integrated into but the global community. Various different service
opportunities are provided for our dedicated members.

Geographic Information Science Club

The Geographic Information Science Club at UWG is designed to help connect students who are
interested in learning about GIS. GIS professionals work in a variety of industries from energy to weather
and climate. With the explosion of GIS Technology uses, it is the mission of the UWG GIS club to promote
the education of GIS professionals at the University of West Georgia and encourage connection and
community among students currently enrolled at UWG taking GIS classes or other related
classes/majors, prospective students, alumni, and members of the business community engaged in the
use of Geospatial Technology.

Geosciences Club


Its object shall be to promote among its members continued professional growth in the areas of geology
and to encourage professional responsibility that includes ethical, social, economic, and safety
considerations.

oSTEM


Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is a national LGBTQ-affirming organization that
aims to provide services and support for students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
and to create a dynamic network between students and professionals in industry and academia.

Physics and Engineering Club


The UWG Physics and Engineering Club (PEC) seeks to provide a forum for the discussion of discoveries in
physics and related fields. We are offering all full-time undergraduate students and faculty the opportunity
to engage in activities related to physics, while facilitating public interest in the physical sciences as well.

West Georgia Women in Science


West Georgia Women in Science aims to support and unite women interested in learning more about the
many fields of science. Sciences are typically male dominated, and by offering women a place to speak
and learn about this field, we hope to encourage more women to go into scientific fields of study!

Wildlife Club


1. Provide opportunities to network and engage with wildlife professionals. 2. Improve educational
opportunities for students at the University of West Georgia. 3. Assist students in their pursuit of wildlife or
other natural resources-based career goals. 4. Raise community awareness and engagement with current
and emerging wildlife issues. 5. Promote a high degree of professionalism and educational development.

Wolves Don't Waste


Wolves Don't Waste aims to promote positive change and awareness of the issue of food insecurity and
wastage on our campus. WDW recovers, packages, and stores food for those who need access at no
charge.

Youth Climate Advocacy Network


YCAN aims sto connect independent climate action clubs throughout the nation to come together and join
forces to fight the current climate crisis. We are dedicated to confronting and challenging all societal
structures that oppose climate action. Our mission is to rally youth, influence policy change, and ensure a
sustainable future for all.

STEM Honor Societies


Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society


The primary purposes of being a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon include the following: 1. to further the
interests of mathematics in those schools which place their primary emphasis on undergraduate programs;
2.to help undergraduate students realize the important role that mathematics has played in the
development of civilization; 3. to develop an appreciation of the power and beauty possessed by
mathematics, due, mainly, to its demand for logical and rigorous modes of thought; 4. to provide a society
for the recognition of outstanding achievement in the study of mathematics at the undergraduate level; and
5. to disseminate the knowledge of mathematics and familiarize its members with the current progress in
this important area of human interest.


Gamma Theta Upsilon Geographic Honor Society


The purpose of this Society shall be: A. To further professional interest in geography by affording a
common organization for those interested in this field. B. To strengthen student and professional training
through academic experiences other than those of the classroom and laboratory. C. To advance the status
of geography as a discipline for study and investigation. D. To encourage student research of high quality
and to promote an outlet for publication. E. To create and administer funds for furthering graduate study
and/or research in the field of geography. F. To encourage members to apply geographic knowledge and
skills in service to humankind.


Beta Beta Beta Biological National Honor Society (TriBeta)


Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to
improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human
knowledge through scientific research
