Li Yang, Ph.D.

Dr. Yang received her doctorate in Computer Science from Florida International University in 2003. Since joining UWG, she has taught a variety of undergraduate courses, such as Information Management, Computing Capstone, Parallel and Distributed Systems, CS1, CS2, Operating Systems, Web Technologies, among others, and graduate courses Operating Systems, and Database Systems I and II. Her research interests include Computer Science Education, Computer Security, and Database Systems. In 2004, she and Dr. Anja Remshagen started the CSWoW (Computer Science Women of West Georgia) group, which aims at increasing and fostering interests in CS among female students at UWG, and provides support (such as senior CS student mentoring, faculty mentoring, etc.) to help them succeed in CS. They organize both social and academic events periodically during each semester. Besides work, she also enjoys reading, movies, good music, traveling and cooking.
