General information about the competition
The West Georgia Regional Science & Engineering Fair (WGRSEF) is West Georgia’s premier
forum for students to showcase their original research, compete for awards, and interact
with top-level professional scientists. Science fairs in Georgia serves not only to
recognize students for their achievements, but also to prepare them to succeed and
flourish in an increasingly complex and highly technical world by becoming problem
solvers, critical thinkers, reflective learners, and more productive and influential
members of their communities.
Students are required to have competed and advanced through a school or county level event in the counties shown (at right) before applying to WGRSEF. Home school competitors need to compete in a homeschool group or the nearest school in their region.
WGRSEF is held annually in February at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia.
The 2020 WGRSEF will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 in the UWG Campus Center Ballroom.
