All Pathways Questions
What are the Double Wolf Pathways?
The Double Wolf Pathways are the Graduate School's way of making the transition from undergraduate to graduate school easier. There are three pathways, all designed to get students where they want to be on their own time: Start Early, Direct Admit, and Apply & Continue. Eligible students can begin their graduate study before earning their bachelor's, qualify for direct admission into a graduate program, or explore potential programs for their future.
Can I do multiple pathways?
There's no need to do multiple pathways. The Start Early pathway allows you to transition into your program without an application at the end. The Direct Admit program allows you to enter your aligned program with a fee-free, simplified application, and the Apply and Continue pathway gives you the opportunity to apply to the program of your choice. All three paths lead to graduate school. We recommend selecting the pathway that best aligns with your goals.
Are the pathways only available to seniors?
While Direct Admit and Apply and Continue are designed for seniors, the Start Early pathway is open to both juniors and seniors.
Start Early Questions
What is the Start Early Pathway?
The Start Early Pathway allows eligible juniors and seniors at UWG to take graduate-level courses in place of undergraduate courses. Students in this program earn credit for both undergraduate and graduate study simultaneously.
Who is eligible for Start Early?
You may qualify for an Double Wolf Pathway if you have:
- Completed 75+ credit hours toward your bachelor’s
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at UWG
- Maintained a 3.2 GPA or higher
Some graduate programs may have additional requirements or may not offer a Start Early pathway. If that is the case, we will guide you through the details.
How does Start Early work?
To take graduate level courses for both undergraduate and graduate level credit, you first need to check if you are eligible for the pathway. Once you determine your eligibility, complete this interest form. The graduate school will then reach out to you with more information.
How do I know which Start Early program I can choose?
If you are interested in continuing in the field of your undergraduate major, such as a business major into a business graduate program, please use our Continue in Your Field page. Locate your current major and an aligned program. If you do not see your major, or if you would like to explore a different program, please contact gradss@westga.edu.
I think I'm eligible for Start Early, but I'm not sure. How can I check?
If you think you meet the requirements, but you are not certain, please contact the graduate school at gradss@westga.edu. We would be happy to help you find out if you are eligible.
What's the final semester I can Start Early?
Because the pathway is designed for you to take graduate level courses during your undergraduate study, you must have at least one semester remaining. We recommend you apply as soon as you are eligible to get the most out of the pathway.

Direct Admit Questions
What is the Direct Admit Pathway?
Qualifying seniors can automatically transition from undergraduate to graduate study with a simplified, fee-free application. Students who apply through this pathway will be automatically admitted to their aligned program given they meet the eligibility requirements.
How does it work?
First, visit the Direct Admit webpage to see if you meet the requirements, then locate your major on the same page to see which programs are aligned.
Toward the beginning of the semester, you should receive an email from the graduate school with a link to a streamlined, fee-free application. If you have not received this email, or if you have lost the link, please contact graduate@westga.edu for a new one.
Using that link, apply to your aligned program. If you meet all of the requirements after your application is reviewed, you will be automatically admitted into your graduate program.
Who is eligible?
To qualify for Direct Admission, you must meet all three of the following criteria:
- 100 or more credit hours completed
- At least 30 of those hours earned at UWG
- A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
If you believe that you're eligible but have not received an application link, please reach out to graduate@westga.edu.
What does "directly admitted" mean?
Applying to your aligned graduate program through the Direct Admit pathway guarantees that you will be admitted to an eligible program given you meet the requirements.
How do I know which program I can choose?
To find which programs are aligned with your major, please visit our Direct Admit webpage. There you will find tables for each college at UWG. Find your college, locate your major, and read which program aligns with your current major. If you do not see your major listed, please contact graduate@westga.edu for help.
I think I'm eligible, but I'm not sure. How can I check?
If you have reviewed the requirements for the pathway and believe you are eligible, first check your email for a message from us with the link. If you cannot locate a message, or have not received one, please contact graduate@westga.edu to check your eligibility and receive the link.
I never received a link for the application. What do I do?
If you think you are eligible but have not received a streamlined application link, please contact graduate@westga.edu.
I lost the link. Where can I get a new one?
If you cannot locate your personalized application link, please check your email for a message from the graduate school. If you cannot locate the link in your email, contact graduate@westga.edu for a new one.
What's the deadline to apply through Direct Admit?
You have three semesters from the time you graduate to apply through the Direct Admit Pathway. If you graduate in Fall, you will have until Fall of the next year to apply with the fee-free, streamlined application.
If you wish to apply after those three semesters are up, you are still able to apply through our portal.
