International student success begins with UWG International Student Orientation. Orientation is designed specifically to assist with:
- adjusting to academic and social life at UWG
- complying with government regulations while in the U.S.
- learning about on and off campus resources and support services
- learning how to navigate the physical environment of the campus
- familiarizing you with the local community and U.S. culture
- meeting new people and making friends from around the world
Studies have shown the benefits of participating in orientation programs. Faculty members and advisers see a marked different in the preparedness and success of students who have participated in orientation.
Fall 2019 International Student Orientation
The University of West of Georgia’s International Student Admissions & Programs Office (ISAP) is excited to meet you in person! The International Student Orientation program is your first chance to experience all that UWG has to offer you. Orientation provides valuable information to ease your transition to campus and life in the USA. Please scroll down for more information.
Date: August 12-13th, 2019
Time: Sessions start at 9:00 AM; Check-In starts at 8:30 AM
Location: University of West Georgia Campus, Adamson Hall Rm.117 (First Floor)
You do NOT need to register for this orientation. Simply attend.
August 12th and 13th are the International Student Orientation, and it is MANDATORY (REQUIRED) for all NEW UWG international students, even if you are transferring from another institution in the United States.
This orientation is different from the UWG Pack Premier orientation, so even if you attended those sessions, you will still need to attend the International Student Orientation. This orientation is specifically designed to give international students pertinent information about immigration status, UWG involvement, and academic success
