Program at a Glance

The Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference will take place at the University of West Georgia on October 23 and 24, 2020. Below is a brief description of the activities planned for each day. A more detailed schedule will be posted here as it is finalized. 


Friday, October 23, 2020: GURC For Students 

Registration and Check-In, 4:00-7:30PM: Registration will be open throughout the conference in the Campus Center Atrium, outside the ballroom. All attendees are encouraged to check in at the registration table prior to beginning conference activities. 


Opening Reception, 4:00-6:30PM: GURC kicks off with an opening reception in the Campus Center. Please see the campus map for location. The opening reception will include games, social activities with door prizes, faculty-led workshops, and a chance to interact with faculty, staff, and graduate representatives from different institutions. Food and refreshments will be provided.


Graduate School Fair, 4:00-5:30PM: The Graduate School Fair offers GURC attendees the opportunity to speak to recruiters and gather information from several graduate schools. A full list of schools will be posted here as those details are finalized.  


Workshops, 5:30-6:20PM: Attend fun, interactive 20-minute faculty/staff-led workshops on a variety of interesting topics. A full schedule will be posted this fall. 


Drop-in Review Services, 5:30-6:20PM: Bring your resume/CV, personal statement draft, and cover letter draft for one-on-one review sessions with UWG Career Services and Writing Center professionals. 


Keynote Address, 6:30-7:30PM: Friday evening activities wrap up with an engaging keynote address. Stay tuned! We’ll announce our speaker soon. 


Saturday, October 24, 2020: GURC By Students 

Registration and Check-In, 8:00AM-4:30PM: Registration will be open throughout the conference in the Campus Center Atrium, outside the ballroom. All attendees are encouraged to check in at the registration table prior to beginning conference activities. If you checked in on Friday, you do not need to check in again on Saturday.  


Presentations, 8:30AM-4:30PM: Oral research presentations, poster sessions, visual presentations, and performances will take place throughout the day at University of West Georgia's Pafford Social Sciences Building and Campus Center. Check back in early October for a detailed schedule of presentations. 


Lunch at East Commons: Lunch will be provided at UWG’s East Commons cafeteria.
