Current Peer and Aspirant Institutions

The University System of Georgia (USG) Research and Policy Analysis (RPA), in cooperation with the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS), devised methodology and established parameters for clustering IPEDS data for the selection of Comparer Peer Institutions. As a result of this process, UWG identified fifteen (15) peer institutions, as required, and five (5) aspirant institutions, as requested by UWG President Kyle Marrero. The initial list of institutions was further refined by the UWG Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Team. The selections were reviewed and approved by UWG President Kyle Marrero, the RPA, and subsequently approved by the USG Board of Regents in May 2017. An updated list of UWG peer and aspirant institutions appear in alphabetical order below. The institutions will be used to benchmark select Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as the university works to achieve the goals set forth in its strategic plan.

Previous Peer and Aspirant Institutions

In Spring 2014, UWG President Kyle Marrero assembled a task force to undertake the process of identifying new peer and aspirant institutions via quantitative and qualitative analysis to coincide with both UWG's change in sector to a comprehensive university and its adoption of a new strategic plan. The list of institutions below are the result of this process. The institutions will be used to benchmark select key performance indicators as the university works to achieve the goals set forth in its strategic plan.
