Biography

My research interests are in cultural anthropology, Latin America, Andes, anthropological theory, ethnographic field methods, symbolic anthropology, animals and culture, and anthropology of religion. In the Department I teach the following courses: History of Anthropological Thought; Ethnographic Field Methods; Peoples and Cultures of Latin America; Animals and Culture; Myth, Magic, and Religion; and Religion in America: The Shakers
