Giveback Days are a brand new initiative for the Center for Student Involvement.
Each month, UWG students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to give back to Carrollton and the surrounding communities through a wide variety of volunteer projects.
This academic year, we hope to provide trips focused on Environmental Clean-up, Hunger, Disabilities, Education, and Literacy. These projects will have limited transportation, so be sure to show up early to be guaranteed a spot. If you are interested in volunteering some of your time to give back, check back soon for more information.
West Georgia Cares Week is a time for students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the differences we can make in the lives of others through service.
Through this event, the Center for Student Involvement hopes to inspire, recognize, and encourage people to become engaged members in our community.
This week long event will have a wide variety of community service projects available on- and off-campus everyday. On Saturday, the week will conclude with The BIG Event - the largest community service project on campus. The BIG Event will place students, faculty, and staff throughout Carrollton to do a wide variety of community service projects. This is our way of saying, "thanks," to the community for all of the support they have shown to our University and students.
A detailed schedule of events will be posted soon.
The BIG Event
One Big Day. One Big Thanks. One Big Event.
The Big Event is one of the largest, one-day, student-run service projects in the nation where college students come together to say, "thank you," to the residents of their community. Students, faculty, and staff participating in this annual event will show their appreciation to the surrounding community by completing service projects such as yard work, window washing, and painting.
Student groups and athletic teams may also work with a number of our local non-profit organizations in Carrollton. More information about our Spring 2017 event will be available soon. If you have any questions until then, please contact the Center for Student Involvement at email@example.com.
