Resident Director: Ashley Owens
Residence Life Coordinator: Cassidy McFarland
Hello, I am Cassidy McFarland. I am the Residence Life Coordinator for Arbor View Apartments. I grew up right down the road in Hiram, Georgia before moving away to attend Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee where I received my Bachelor’s degree majoring in Anthropology and Political Science. After that, I spent two years working at a residential high school in Hot Springs, Arkansas where I decided that my passion for working with students in a higher education setting was something I could turn into a career. From there, I attended the University of Texas at Austin where I earned my Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration while working for the Women in Engineering Program. For the past two and a half years I have been a full time Residence Hall Director at the University of South Dakota.
After spending 10 years away from the place I grew up, my husband and I decided it was time to pack up our life and our dog, Joy, and move home. I am excited to bring my strengths and working knowledge to the University of West Georgia, and to learn and grow from the students and staff.
