Greek Village 2009 Welcome!

The Greek Village at the University of West Georgia opened in Fall 2009 with chapter houses accommodating 18 NPC, IFC and NPHC sororities and fraternities. The village is a place where Greek organizations can create a unique community that helps create stronger bonds both between members and between their respective organizations.

This community enhances Greek Life at UWG by attracting potential members and providing a residential site for Fraternities and Sororities to flourish and expand. If you would like more information about Going Greek, please explore the Center for Student Involvement! Residence Life Coordinator: Kenneth Smith

My name is Kenneth Smith and I am originally from Piedmont, Alabama. I am excited to serve the students of the University of West Georgia where I am the Residence Life Coordinator for the Greek Village. I attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Art in Political Science. It was during my time at JSU that I became heavily involved with Greek Life where I served on the JSU IFC Executive Board. I would go on to serve as the Southeastern Interfraternity Council (SEIFC) Vice-President of Vendors. I was honored to serve as the President of the SEIFC during the 50th year of the conference. It was at the SEIFC that I met a mentor that would offer me a chance to serve as the summer intern at Troy University in Alabama in the Office of Student Involvement. I worked with Fraternity and Sorority Life and assisted with the Alabama Special Olympics during my time at Troy. Because of these experiences, I was offered a graduate assistantship at Texas Christian University. I accepted and graduated with my Masters in Educational Administration in 2017. During the summer working toward my M.Ed I was able to spend the summer in Indianapolis, Indiana at Indiana University - Perdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Fraternity and Sorority Life.
I have been honored to experience many wonderful things through my involvement in college. It is my hope that, as a professional, I can impact students lives and show them that there are limitless possibilities when you put yourself out there. By Going West, the world is now at your fingertips!
