Tyus Hall is our five floor co-educational residence hall for upper-class, international, and students with disabilities.
The building is composed of suite style rooms which vary in style and size. Suites are styled as either: two bedroom/one bath, five bedroom/two bath and one bedroom/one bath.
Depending on the available space, private rooms are available in Tyus Hall. Another unique feature of Tyus is the motel-like style that allows all suites to exit onto an exterior walkway.
Residence Life Coordinator: Basia Wilis
My name is Barbara Wilas but I go by Basia (Ba-sh-a) I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I am the first generation of my family born in the United States and the first generation to attend college. I attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and obtained a Bachelors of Science in Speech Communication Public Relations. But I was not done and got my Masters of Science in Education of Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale!
My passion to be in Higher Education and Student Affairs was the experiences I gained from my time as an undergraduate. I love learning and growing outside of my comfort zone every day. I also have a background in Campus Activities and Programming. Beyond student affairs I love working out (especially running long distance), reading, traveling, watching movies/shows, gardening, and cooking.
I am the Residence Life Coordinator for Center Pointe Suites which is part of West Campus. There are over 16 Resident Assistants and 1 Graduate Resident Director to serve you and our community. We aim to Lead, Serve and Impact. GO WEST! GO WOLVES!
