The Americans with Disabilities Act is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. The ADA guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to enjoy employment opportunities, purchase goods and services, and participate in state and local government programs.
Requesting a Reasonable Accommodation

Submit a RequestComplete the Employee ADA Accommodation Request Form and submit it through the online portal. Current employees may also discuss their request with their supervisor.

Review ProcessHuman Resources will review the request, engage in the interactive process, and request supporting documentation or additional information if needed to evaluate the accommodation request. Medical documentation is not required when submitting the initial request.Initial review typically occurs within 1 to 3 business days. Expedited review is available when circumstances warrant.

DeterminationHuman Resources will notify the employee of the decision. The requested accommodation may be approved, an alternative accommodation may be offered, or the request may be denied based on the information available and applicable requirements.

AppealEmployees who disagree with the determination may submit a written appeal in accordance with the University's ADA Accommodation Appeal Process.
