The University of West Georgia proudly announces the appointment of Allyson Bretch ’14 as its interim vice president for university advancement and interim chief executive officer of UWG’s philanthropic foundations. In this pivotal role, Bretch will spearhead efforts to elevate the institution's fundraising endeavors, drive strategies for securing major gifts, and fortify the bond between alumni and the university.

A passionate alumna and dedicated staff member who began serving UWG more than a decade ago, Bretch brings to this position a wealth of experience and knowledge of both the institution and its surrounding communities. 

“I am honored to serve in this capacity, as UWG holds a special place in my heart, and I am committed to continuing our efforts to support UWG’s mission,” Bretch said. “I look forward to working with our dedicated team to enhance the university's reputation and impact.”

In her new role, Bretch will focus on building upon UWG’s strong foundation of philanthropy, working closely with donors to identify opportunities for investment in the university’s future. She will also lead efforts to enhance alumni and constituent engagement, ensuring graduates remain connected to UWG long after they graduate.

“As an esteemed alumna who has dedicated over a decade of service to UWG, Allyson has played a vital role in advancing our institution’s outcomes related to fundraising and alumni engagement,” said Dr. Brendan Kelly, UWG’s president. “As she steps into this role, her deep-rooted connection to our university community and her commitment to curating a first-choice university will serve our institution well. I have every confidence in Allyson’s ability to continue the momentum of our advancement efforts, and I am grateful for her continued service to our alma mater.”
