Chemistry Professor Earns Teacher Quality Grant
Dr. Sharmistha Basu-Dutt, chair and professor of chemistry at the University of West Georgia, has received a grant of $40,425. The University of Georgia awarded Basu-Dutt the Teacher Quality grant, and the money is intended to be used on a 50 hour, 5 PLU workshop for 24 teachers from Fulton, Coweta and Douglas counties.
Nursing students depict their work through art
It has been said that nursing is a form of art. Nursing students in the May 2018 cohort recently put their nursing skills on display in the form of an aesthetic art exhibit at UWG's Tanner Health System School of Nursing. Their assignment was to create something--a painting, a poem, a story, or literally anything they desired--to depict how they view themselves as professional nurses.

WGTC, UWG Sign Transfer Agreement for Psychology Degree
West Georgia Technical College and the University of West Georgia have signed a new articulation agreement that will allow students to transfer credits from one institution to the other in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in psychology from UWG.

University of West Georgia alumnus and entrepreneur Lance Toland, owner of Lance Toland Associates, is an avid supporter of his local community on Sea Island, Ga.
