Isabel Maggiano, Ph.D.

Dr. Isabel Maggiano is a Biological Anthropologist with research interests in skeletal biology, bioarchaeology, bone microscopy, biomechanics, and bone imaging. Originally from Germany, she received her Masters from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany and her PhD from the University Hildesheim, Germany. Her work includes bioarchaeological interpretations of occupational activity patterns from Classic Maya populations. More recent interests include the identification of human bone tissues, growth patterns and three-dimensional reconstructions of human cortical bone.
