Jamie L. Brown, LPC, CPCS

Jamie is a West Georgia native having earned her degrees at UWG. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Clinical Professional Counselor Supervisor with a B.A. in Mass Communications and an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She brings a lifetime of public outreach having served 10 years in office as the first female District Commissioner in the history of Haralson County, Georgia. She is a graduate of multiple leadership programs, receiving local and state recognition for her work. She has been featured in the West Georgia Woman Magazine and is a past Georgia Trend "40 Under 40” recipient.

Jamie's career began as a television news reporter before transitioning to work with troubled youth and county governments to bring positive progress to her community. She worked as the Director of Haralson Behavioral Health Services and West Region Director for Highland Rivers Behavioral Health before returning home to UWG. In her current role, she focuses on mental health awareness and helping students overcome obstacles for success.
