Dr. Kathryn Henderson is an instructor of psychology at the University of West Georgia, a published author, and a faculty mentor with more than 15 years of experience in higher education. She teaches Introduction to Psychology, Culture and Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology. At Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), she taught Social Psychology, Honors Introduction to Psychology, and Psychology of Adjustment, among other courses. Her career also includes work in school counseling, special education, community mental health, and curriculum development.

Dr. Henderson was a lead author of OpenStax’s Psychology 1e, contributing chapters on learning, memory, developmental psychology, personality, and social psychology. She also authored entries on Erik Erikson’s psychosocial development and Jean Piaget’s cognitive development for Gale’s Foundations of Psychology. As a subject matter expert, writer, and course designer, she has developed educational and assessment content for Western Governors University, Brigham Young University, UWorld Medical, Hurix Digital, Wisewire, Junction Education, Prometric, CarMax Auto Finance, The Home Depot, Kitaboo, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Since 2008, Dr. Henderson has taught through the University System of Georgia’s eCore program, where she also trains and mentors faculty. She has received multiple eCore awards for excellence in online teaching and faculty mentoring. Her experience teaching traditional, dual enrollment, adult, and international students shapes her approach to teaching: she makes psychological research accessible and helps students connect it to their relationships, decisions, and communities.
