Dr. Coker earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at Shenandoah University and his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. His primary vocal teacher was Charles Lynam. Warren has performed as a professional operatic baritone and vocal soloist for over 30 years. Dr. Coker's DMA research focused on traditional vocal music of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley during the 19th century. He was recently a Vocal Adjudicator at the 2024 Student Auditions for the Georgia Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and he was a Vocal Music Adjudicator for the 2025 State-Level Literary Championships of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA). Dr. Coker previously instructed Applied Voice at Rider University, Appalachian State University, and Shenandoah University, and is currently teaching Applied Voice at the University of West Georgia.
