Ricky Warren is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of West Georgia's School of Visual & Performing Arts, where he teaches courses in visual communication, branding, and professional design practice. With over 20 years of experience in graphic design, his work bridges professional practice, creative leadership, and design education.

Before joining UWG, Ricky served as the Creative Lead and Graphic Designer in Marketing Communications in Atlanta, overseeing design strategy, art direction, and brand identity across digital and print platforms. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), he has extensive experience managing cross-departmental creative initiatives, mentoring design teams, and directing large-scale marketing and branding campaigns.

Ricky’s academic career spans more than nine years, during which he previously taught at Georgia State University, integrating professional practice with design theory, research, and critical inquiry. His teaching emphasizes visual communication, intentional creativity, conceptual development, and professional readiness—preparing students to navigate the evolving intersections of design, technology, and human experience.

His research and creative work explore the relationships between graphic design, consumer culture, identity, and visual storytelling, with a particular focus on how design mediates communication and perception in contemporary culture.
