Dr. Bernard B. Asare-Bediako is an Assistant Professor in the Dr. James “Earl” Perry College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences at the University of West Georgia, Carrollton. He earned his master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Xiamen University, where he designed sustainable nanoporous materials for applications such as paint additives. He subsequently earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on the catalytic conversion of CO₂ into chemicals and fuels. He completed postdoctoral research at the University of Tennessee, where he worked designed catalysts for producing polymer precursors from CO₂ as well as research that advancing biomass valorization. Dr. Asare-Bediako is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). He is passionate about teaching and mentoring, and his research centers on green chemistry, with emphasis on CO₂ and biomass valorization, nanoporous material synthesis, and biopolymer synthesis.
