What Is UWG SHowcase?

UWG is dedicated to helping you make your college decision, and we are excited to welcome you back to campus for our larger events. This open-house style event allows you the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and current students on why you should "Go West." With this experience, you can make your day whatever you need it to be while visiting our beautiful Carrollton campus. 

You'll have the opportunity to choose your own adventure and learn from faculty, staff, and students what it's like to be a UWG Wolf. From our academic sessions & tracks to our academic and department showcase fair, we want to give you the opportunity to get an inside look at becoming a Wolf. We have a little something for everyone, so what can we help you become? Register today!

What will I do at Fall Showcase?

Explore the campus in person with a student-led tour or housing tour.

Meet with UWG faculty and see the classroom come to life and have hands-on experiences at the Academic Showcase.

Join our information sessions to learn more about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, and so much more!

 

Meet with UWG staff and current students at the Department Fair to see what life is like a UWG Wolf!

Information Sessions and Tracks

You will have the opportunity to choose from various specialized tracks including a Transfer Track, Hispanic/Latino Track, Out-of-State Track, Art Track, Theatre Track, or a Band Track. Each track includes a personalized information session. 

 

Preview Day Tracks

For prospective transfer students

The transfer track will address your unique interests, questions, and concerns as you embark on a new journey at the University of West Georgia. As a participant of the Transfer Track, you will get to meet other students transitioning to a new college just like you that share your same goals and opportunities, as well as fears. 

The Transfer Track Schedule includes:

  • Transfer Admission Requirements Session

  • Presentations from Financial Aid, Transfer Credit Evaluation Team, Center for Academic Success, and Counseling

  • Transfer Student Panel Discussion

  • Guided Upper-Classmen Residence Hall Tour

For the Hispanic/Latino community

As a student who participates in the Hispanic Preview Day Schedule you will get to see what UWG has to offer just like any other student, but you will have the opportunity to interact with others that share your values, language, and culture while on campus. Doing so will make your experience that much better! For more information please contact us at descubre@westga.edu.

The Hispanic Preview Day Schedule allows you and your parents to learn about UWG in a bilingual setting at events like:

  • Information Session

  • Guided Campus Tour

  • Panel Discussion and Student Showcase

  • Parent Discussion (In Spanish)

For students living outside of Georgia and Alabama

This track will address questions unique to out of state students, scholarship information, and questions regarding the Alabama border state waiver. As a participant of the Out of State Track, you will get to meet current out of state students who have transitioned to life at UWG and have advice on campus life, meeting others, and getting involved on our campus. Please contact the out of state admissions representative, Zac Hodge at zhodge@westga.edu for more information.

The Out of State Track includes:

  • Information Session addressing out of state questions, scholarship information, Alabama border waiver instructions, and more! 
  • Out of State Student Panel Question and Answer Discussion 
  • Meet and greet with your personal Admissions Representative 

Feeling creative? Come learn more about our Art programs and how we can excel your career! Meet with the great minds who will teach you and explore our facilities, virtually!

Can you hear that? It is our marching band! Come learn more about our band program and visit our facilities, virtually! We are excited to showcase what we can offer you.

Act 1, Scene 1: Come explore why you should consider our Theatre program here at the University of West Georgia. We know you do not want to miss this.
