Scholarship Information for Current Students

Each spring the Department of Art hosts a Student Scholarship Competition. During this competition the Department of Art awards financial aid based upon the review of applicants' portfolios. Cash awards are granted to students who display strong work and potential. Incoming freshmen are eligible to apply.

In addition, the list of current scholarships are available to art majors and have specific requirements such as areas of study and grade point average.

Portfolio submissions are required of all applicants for departmental scholarships and awards. Funding is also available to purchase student art work at the Juried Student Art Exhibition. These works become part of the permanent collection of the Department of Art and are placed in public areas on campus. Other departments on campus purchase student work as well. The College of Education, School of Business, the Offices of the President and Vice President, and others have purchased work in the past. In addition, Art majors are eligible for all grants and scholarships offered by University of West Georgia.

Scholarship applications are due at the beginning of March each year.
