Thinking about submitting to eclectic? eclectic embraces the variety of art that UWG students have to offer in the areas of literary, art, music, and film, making it truly eclectic. All eclectic submissions should be sent to the UWG email: eclectic@westga.edu.

We can’t wait to see what you came up with, but here are a few things you should keep in mind.

Eligibility

  • You must be an undergraduate student enrolled at University of West Georgia or a previous student within one year of your graduation.
  • Your submission should not be previously published in print or anywhere online. Exceptions to this are artwork, original music, and film—however, please indicate where your work appears in your submission and that you have the original rights to the work.

Formatting and Submission Instructions

How to send eclectic your work:

Email eclectic@westga.edu

  • In the subject line of your email, please include your name and the category your submission falls under.

    Example: Jane Smith’s literary submission

  • If you’re submitting to multiple categories or more than one piece for a single category, please include all submissions in a single email.

Example: Jane Smith’s literary submission and art submission

  • The file name should include your name (last name, then first name), and the title of the piece.

Example: Smith Jane The Lion Tamer

  • In the body of the email, please let us know what specific genre your work falls under.

    Example: Dear Editors,

Please see my attached short story “The Lion Tamer” for possible publication in eclectic. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • We’d love to know who’s submitting, so please provide a two to three sentence bio in the body of the email. The bio should be in third person and have your first and last name.

Example: Jane Smith is a junior at University of West Georgia and majors in Accounting with a minor in Creative Writing. Her short story was inspired by her experience in the circus, and she enjoys writing not only fiction but also screenplays and poems. She is involved in the Basket-weaving Club and is an Honors student.
