To exempt the GACE Program Admission test required for admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP), students must earn a 1000 combined Math and Verbal score on the SAT or a combined Math and Verbal score of 43 on the ACT.

No student may exempt the GACE Subject Area tests. Students should take tests 020 and 021 or, if taking both tests on one day, test 507. Students will be permitted to create an account on the Electronic Testing Service (ETS) GACE site and then sign up for the subject tests after acceptance to the final semester of Internship. Students cannot take the subject tests before being vetted and accepted to the Internship class. Most students take the GACE Subject Area tests right before or at the beginning of the Internship semester, depending on testing dates available.

Students may graduate without having passed the GACE Subject Area tests, but they cannot apply for or receive certification until they have passed the GACE Subject Area tests.
