English Education students need to apply and be accepted into the Teacher Education Program (TEP) by the end of their second year at UWG.

Students will take their upper-level professional education courses in the TEP, as well as complete their teaching internship.

To apply for the TEP, here are the steps you need to take:

  1. Register here for a MyPSC account
  2. Take the GACE Program Admission Assessment Tests (or exempt the GACE with ACT/SAT scores*). You can register online for the GACE tests here. You’ll need your "GA CERT ID" from your MyPSC account in step one. Make sure to register for the correct tests: the "Program Admission Combined Test I, II, and III," which is test #710
  3. Take the Georgia Ethics Assessment. To take the assessment, go to your MyPSC account and register for test #360.
  4. Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.7

*Acceptable exemption scores for the GACE are ACT scores: 43 combined English and Math; SAT scores: 1000 combined Critical Reading and Math; GRE: prior to August 2011, 1030 Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning after August 2011, 297 Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning. Please see your advisor to make sure you are eligible.
