Directed by Jonathan Kitt

February 23-28, 2021 Streaming through showtix4u.com

The UWG Theatre Company celebrates Black History Month with this sweet, poignant (and somewhat local) play that covers 20th century African American history. Gee’s Bend centers on women born, reared, and living in the real community of Gee’s Bend, Alabama, which is famous for the beautiful quilts the women make there. As they make their quilts, we are transported to different decades and by their empowerment to seek change.

Contains strong language and mature themes.

The Ver**zon Play

by Lisa Kron
Directed by Shelly Elman
April 28-May 1, 2021 through showtix4u.com

We end our season with a crazy, screwball comedy from the wild imagination of Lisa Kron, who wrote the book for the hit musical Fun Home. Who hasn’t had difficulty with their cell phone service? In The Ver**zon Play, we see how a simple call to customer service to fix a minor problem with a cell phone bill explodes into a cacophony of horror and ultimately of revenge. Contains strong language.
