Resistance is Futile.
Exploring the idea of fighting back, UWG Theatre Company will examine classic and modern characters as they come against forces, both real and imagined, that seem greater and stronger than their own. Will they be victorious in their fight, or will they find that RESISTANCE is FUTILE?

Season Schedule

Alan Yeong

This season is dedicated to our cherished friend, colleague, mentor, designer, and teacher, Professor Alan Yeong-Marcello. On Monday, September 25, 2023, we found out that Alan passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home. An award-winning costume designer in Atlanta and regionally, Alan brought his talent and unique vision to so many theatre companies, patrons, and artists. He was a dedicated colleague and a tough-as-nails mentor with a big and soft heart. He taught and designed at UWG for 22 years, mentoring and graduating countless students on their way to becoming designers and teachers themselves. This is a huge loss for all of us and as we navigate our way through our grief, we want you to know how very dear this man was to faculty, staff, students, and alumni of UWG Theatre. We dedicate our 2023-2024  Resistance is Futile season to Alan. He is survived by his loving husband, David, and his family in Malaysia.

Fuddy Meers focuses on Claire, who suffers from amnesia and wakes up each morning with no memories. Every day, her son and husband try to remind her of the facts of her life so that they stay in her memory. When Claire is abducted by a mysterious limping, lisping man, hilarity ensues!

Based on the cult 1984 comedy film of the same name, The Toxic Avenger is a rock musical about a group of young people trying to clean up a major toxic waste problem in their city. When our hero, Melvin Ferd the Third, goes to check out the town dump, he transforms into the hero the city has been yearning for! The Toxic Avenger isn’t from Marvel or DC. It’s better than that. It’s a UWG Wolves superhero production!
