Southwire and its subsidiaries manufacture building wire and cable, utility products, metal-clad cable, portable and electronic cord products, OEM wire products and engineered products. In addition, Southwire supplies assembled products, contractor equipment, electrical components, hand tools and jobsite power and lighting solutions. The company also offers digital solutions including contractor planning and utility grid resiliency as well as field services including cable testing, rejuvenation and replacement to support our customers as a value-add partner.


The Southwire Business Leadership Program in partnership with The University of West Georgia is designed to give students valuable, hands-on experience while pursuing their bachelor’s degree or higher. Our goal is to provide meaningful, relevant work that builds on classroom learning. Part-time student positions offer flexible scheduling to accommodate academic priorities and are available across various environments, including corporate offices, customer service centers, and production facilities. Participants will gain exposure to a real-world business and manufacturing environment while maintaining full-time academic status.


Students may work part-time throughout their college career, with opportunities to extend hours during summer and academic breaks. Eligible students must be in their Senior year and remain enrolled with the University of West Georgia through graduation. Candidates must live within commuting distance of the designated Southwire location to participate in the Southwire Business Leadership Program.Southwire Logo

Position Summary
This position will support the team by contributing to key projects and initiatives that align with Southwire’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. They should be eager to learn, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and possess excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research, analyze data, and present findings to support departmental projects.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating best practices, alternatives, and solutions for process improvements.
• Support the development and implementation of initiatives that align with the department’s goals.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other deliverables as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to drive project progress and meet deadlines.
• Support internal and external communication efforts related to ongoing projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications
• Minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Must be currently enrolled at University of West Georgia pursuing a degree in relevant
areas of study, e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Analytics
Communications, etc…
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
