We know there are many worthy causes to which you might donate. We thank you in advance for considering support of the UWG English Program.

All gifts made to the department directly benefit its scholarly and pedagogical missions. Generosity from donors assists our students in many ways, such as enabling undergraduates to publish their own work in our student-run journal, LURe, and our award-winning creative magazine, Eclectic; providing travel funds for graduate students so that they may present their scholarship at national and international conferences; and bringing renowned scholars and eminent authors to the department for readings and one-on-one writing tutorials. Through funding such as yours our students are able to better afford their tuition, fees, and books; our faculty are able to travel to conferences and present their research; our instructors are able to bring into the classroom the excitement of being at the forefront of the scholarly field. In the past, donations from alumni and friends have provided our undergraduates with prizes that reward excellence in scholarship and creative writing and have made possible research and writing in our graduate program and among our faculty. In the future we would like to expand these programs and bring new ones to UWG. For example, we would like to create a small scholarship that would fund the travel-related expenses of students participating in professional internships through the department.
