Matt Donovan is the author of two collections of poetry—Vellum (2007) and Rapture & the Big Bam
(2017)—as well as a collection of lyric essays entitled A Cloud of Unusual Size and Shape: Meditations on Ruin and Redemption (2016). His work has appeared in AGNI, American Poetry Review, The Believer, Gettysburg Review, Kenyon Review, Poetry, Threepenny Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many others. Donovan is the recipient of a Whiting Award, a Rome Prize in Literature, a Pushcart Prize, an NEA Fellowship in Literature, and the Larry Levis Reading Prize. He serves as Professor of Practice in English Language and Literature and Director of the Poetry Center at Smith College in Massachusetts.
