Winner of the inaugural 2018 Blackwell Prize in Painting, Peggi Kroll Roberts' idiosyncratic career includes design jobs with Dillard's, Swatch, Parent Magazine, and many others, along with a four-year position with the prestigious advertising agency Doyle, Dane, and Bernbach in Los Angeles. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including at Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson, Arizona, Wessel Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, Laguna Beach Art Museum in California, and Pasadena Historical Museum in California.

Kroll Roberts was trained at Arizona State University and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. She lives with her husband, artist Ray Roberts, and their three children on a small ranch in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California, and works in a converted storage building heated by a wood stove.
