Please prepare a monologue from a contemporary play that is one minute in length and sixteen bars of a song of an uptempo song from a musical. You must bring the piano score to the audition.

Call backs for Fall 2020 shows will take place in the Old Auditorium and Martha Munro Acting Studio on Tuesday, August 11. Lists of call backs for each show will be posted on the Martha Munro call board on the 1st floor by 1:00PM
on August 11.

Songs for a New World

Actually, Songs for a New World just explores. Have the struggles and victories that life brings us changed since the exploration of the new world? Have we changed? Join us as we explore what it’s like to be just human. Contains strong language.

I and You

A poignant story of love, compassion, and benediction, I and You is a story similar to that of The Fault in Our Stars, only with a twist. Caroline and Anthony are 17-year-old high school seniors paired together to present a project on Walt Whitman and his masterpiece collection of poems, Leaves of Grass.  Caroline is housebound because of an illness. Anthony is a popular basketball player with a passion for Whitman’s poems. Sparks fly as together they discover the beauty of Whitman’s work. Be prepared as there is a surprise ending that will make you speechless!

Please prepare a two contrasting monologues from contemporary plays lasting one minute in length for each monologue (for a total of two minutes). We may ask you to sing a capella, so please be prepared for that.

Gee's Bend

The UWG Theatre Company celebrates Black History Month with this sweet, poignant (and somewhat local) play that covers 20th century African American history. Gee’s Bend centers on women born, reared, and living in the real community of Gee’s Bend, Alabama, which is famous for the beautiful quilts the women make there. As they make their quilts, we are transported to different decades and by their empowerment to seek change.

Episodes in Sexuality 2021: The Film

In The Ver**zon Play, we see how a simple call to customer service to fix a minor problem with a cell phone bill explodes into a cacophony of horror and ultimately of revenge. Contains strong language.
