    1 One of many possible programs of study meets the minimum requirements for BS in Biology (see below).  This sample plan is designed to prepare a student for post-graduate studies or career in an environmentally-related field.  A student is advised NOT to pursue this plan without formally declaring a major in Biology and consulting regularly with their assigned advisor.  Students use non-assigned advisors at their own risk.

    1One of many possible programs of study that meets the minimum requirements for a BS in Biology (see below) and prepares a student for certification to teach high school biology (application to teacher education is required (see undergraduate catalog)).  A student is advised NOT to pursue this plan without formally declaring a major in Biology and consulting regularly with their assigned advisor.  A student uses non-assigned advisors at their own risk.  NOTE: This program of study is designed to complete the course requirements for teacher education prior to the start of the third year (see undergraduate catalog for other eligibility requirements).  Admission to teacher education is required for enrollment into Education Blocks as noted in the program above.
