Spring Symposium--Spotlight On...

This annual public speaking event is designed to encourage UWG students to become active in politics.  Each spring, the Department hosts a panel of professionals, academics and students to explore a special topic. The panel is moderated by a member of the Communication Studies faculty and questions are received from the audience.

2020 Spring Symposium:

As the worldwide coronavirus and COVID-19 situation has evolved, University of West Georgia leaders have been closely monitoring updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), and the University System of Georgia.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of all UWG stakeholders are of paramount importance. Therefore, in the best interest of all involved parties, the university has suspended all events taking place on campus, including our spring symposium previously scheduled for April 15.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding.
