Description

This undergraduate course provides wellness, fitness, and health professionals with healthy eating and nutrition principles. The course aids students in understanding the role of nutrition in improving health and applying these ideas to establish healthy SMART goals and eating plans within the scope of practice. Students will review current eating habits and patterns using national dietary guidelines and nutritional assessment tools. Course topics around nutrition include fundamentals, chronic disease, needs in the lifecycle, dietary supplementation, food insecurity, sports performance, and overall wellness.
