Melissa Brillhart, MA, RD, LD

Melissa is a seasoned registered dietitian and certified health coach with a strong track record in the wellness industry. Her professional passions include addressing food insecurity, advancing disease prevention and health promotion, exploring integrative wellness strategies, and implementing high-impact practices in higher education.

She holds a master’s degree in Health Promotion from the University of Alabama and began her academic journey at the University of West Georgia in 2016 as an adjunct instructor. She transitioned to a full-time faculty role in 2020.

Melissa thrives in the dynamic environment of higher education and is committed to empowering students, faculty, and staff through impactful wellness education and initiatives.

Currently, she serves as the coordinator for the Health and Community Wellness professional dietetics track and oversees the minor in Nutrition Promotion and Education. She also advises the Nutrition Ambassadors and is the founding faculty advisor for Wolves Don’t Waste, a student-led organization focused on reducing food waste and hunger on campus.
