Maryanne Weatherill

Maryanne Weatherill received her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Cognition and Development. Her research interests include patient motivation and engagement in adult rehabilitation.

A Speech-Language Pathologist for over 25 years in medical settings including inpatient acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, home health, skilled nursing, and VA hospital, her primary clinical responsibilities have included evaluation and treatment of patients with dysphagia and neurologically based communication disorders.

Dr. Weatherill is a past-president of the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and served on the Executive Board for the Council of State Association Speech-Language-Hearing Association Presidents.  She was recognized as the 2018 Outstanding ACD Ph.D. Student by the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. She is a six-time recipient of the Award for Continuing Education from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  She received the Dr. Robert A. Hull Leadership Award, in recognition of outstanding leadership in the profession, from the Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2014.
