The College of Education's Study Abroad in Belize program gives students international field observation experience (10 hours) in Belize helping 5th grade students prepare for their standardized tests using literacy lessons that have already been developed.

Students will also have the opportunity to interact with high school students at Ocean Academy on Caye Caulker. Students will learn about Belizian schooling, the educational system, culture, history and environment through special programs and excursions including Creole ceremonial drumming, a guided night tour of the Belize zoo, a visit to the Saturday market, tour of Mayan ruins, ceremonial cave tour, cave tubing, guided reef snorkeling, and a kayak tour of a mangrove forest.
