These assistantships offer exceptional professional development opportunities through structured, supervised work experiences in numerous academic programs and departments.

Assistantships offer valuable employment opportunities that support the university's research, teaching, and service responsibilities. They also help students fund their graduate education. To remain eligible, graduate assistants must maintain satisfactory academic progress and performance, as well as successfully complete their assigned research, teaching, or other duties. Because most assistantships are managed directly by individual departments and programs, students should contact the relevant department for specific information.
Graduate assistantships, graduate research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and fellowships are available to full-time, degree-seeking students. The University System of Georgia requires all graduate students receiving a tuition reduction as part of their graduate assistantship award to have health insurance that meets established minimum requirements. Additional details are available in the Student Health Insurance Policy.
