Incoming First-year Honors students are eligible to receive West Georgia's most prestigious awards, Presidential Scholarships.

Every year we award 8 incoming Honors students with a $4,500 per year award, which is renewable for up to 3 additional years as long as the student maintains Honors College eligibility.

In order to be considered for this award, you must be eligible for the Honors College.

The Presidential Scholarship Committee reviews the Admissions Scores of all Honors College eligible UWG incoming first year students who have been accepted to the University of West Georgia before March 1st. Students with exceptional qualifications will be contacted and interviews will be arranged. Decisions are typically made after March 1st each year.

The review process for Presidential Scholarships is highly competitive. Students with high GPA's and SAT/ACT scores are encouraged to apply early (Office of Admissions) to the University of West Georgia in order to be eligible to receive these awards.

*Students typically need a 4.0 GPA and at least a 1350 SAT Critical Reading and Math score in order to receive an invitation to interview for these awards.
