The Bachelor of Science in Nursing, RN to BSN program, is a 100 percent online program designed for licensed RN's both in the state of Georgia and out of state who are seeking a BSN degree. The program prepares RN's for professional advancement and offers interactive learning through an asynchronous online environment. This program combines a rich and liberal foundation the arts, sciences, and humanities with a unique nursing curriculum that emphasizes the art and science of nursing. Program applications are accepted from February 1 to May 1 for Fall admission. Applicants seeking admission to the RN-BSN program should be self-directed and committed to engaging in caring nursing practices with indivulas from diverse backgrounds. Nursing practice is holistic and recognizes the relationship of the mind, body, and spirit. As critical thinkers, students will be expected to examine personal value systems and the value systems of others. Students seeking admission to this program should consider their personal goals and values in light of those expresssed in the philosophy of the School of Nursing.

RN-BSN courses are offered 100% online. The professional sequence is completed in four consecutive semesters. Admission is for Fall semester.

The flexibility can allow one to maintain a job while attending school. Regardless of state residency, out-of-state non-resident students are not charged non-resident tuition for online course credit hours.
- Total tuition costs and fees may vary, depending on the instructional method of the courses in which the student chooses to enroll.
- The more courses a student takes in a single term, the more they will typically save in fees and total cost.
- Face-to-Face or partially online courses are charged at the general tuition rate and all mandatory campus fees, based on the student's residency (non-residents are charged at a higher rate).
- Fully or entirely online course tuition rates and fees my vary depending on the program. Students enrolled in exclusively online courses do not pay non-Resident rates.
- Together this means that GA residents pay about the same if they take all face-to-face or partially online courses as they do if they take only fully online courses exclusively; while non-residents save money by taking fully online courses.
- One word of caution: If a student takes a combination of face-to-face and online courses in a single term, they will pay both all mandatory campus fees and the higher eTuition rate.

RN to BSN learners complete courses in four consecutive semesters (fall, spring, summer, and fall). Learners complete 30 semester hours of required upper level nursing courses. See program map under the Downloads header.

This course will address the basic mechanics of scholarly writing, peer review, self-editing, and APA format.
Concepts of altered health states introduces the learner to pathophysiology disruptions in the normal body functioning in individuals across the lifespan. Objective and subjective manifestations of common health problems resulting from the environmental, genetic, and stress-related maladaptations are assessed and analyzed. Emphasis is placed on assessment findings, diagnostic testing, and interventions for specific health problems are discussed.
This course will prepare the registered nurse to explore current issues and future trends that have a direct impact on professional nursing practice in today’s complex healthcare environment. Emphasis is placed on quality caring relationships, self-care, work environment, safety, accountability, and healthcare reform.
This course will provide the registered nurse with an overview of health care informatics. The role of the nurse within technology will be explored. In addition, informatics concepts and frameworks will be explored with relevance to nursing practice.
This course advances the skills of the registered nurse in holistic health assessment of the general health and well-being of persons, identifying and documenting findings outside the range of acceptable parameters within the virtual health assessment platform, Shadow Health. Assessment skills are emphasized within a quality caring framework for the delivery of safe and person-centered care.
This course will prepare the registered nurse for the professional role of caring for individuals, families, communities and populations in community and public health environments. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, disease prevention and risk reduction of population-based health problems, and consideration given to populations experiencing chronic health problems being cared for in the home and community setting.
This course will prepare the registered nurse for nursing leadership and management roles by enabling students to recognize and develop leadership skills. Leadership and management theories, concepts and exemplars will be identified and explored. Coursework and clinical experiences will facilitate the application of leadership and management principles necessary for professional practice in today’s complex healthcare environment. An emphasis is placed on caring as a leader reinforcing the caring philosophy of professional nursing practice.

Program Specific Admittance Guidelines
- Earned Associates of Science Degree in Nursing from an ACEN, CNEA, or CCNE accredited program.
- Evidence of current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the United States.
- GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale) for all completed core coursework applicable to BSN degree.
- Applicants must have completed a minimum of 48 semester hours of core to be considered after May 1st and should include:
- ENGL 1101 & 1102
- MATH 1111-Coll Algebra, OR 1001-Quant. Skills, OR 1113-PreCalc, OR 1634-Calc AND 2063-Statistics
- At least 3 of the 5 lab science courses required for a BSN at UWG from: A Principles of Biology or Survey/Principles of Chemistry sequence (2 courses), Human Anatomy & Physiology 1, Human Anatomy & Physiology 2, and Microbiology
