Spring Symposium--Spotlight On...

This annual Communication Studies event is designed to encourage UWG students to become more aware of contemporary issues impacting the campus and community. Each spring, the School hosts a panel of professionals, academics and students to explore a special topic. The panel is moderated by a member of the Communication Studies faculty and questions are received from the audience.

2021 Spring Symposium:  Navigating the New Virtual Normal

Navigating the New Virtual Normal, we discussed how many aspects of student and work life will never be the same and how students should be prepared to enter the work world in light of the changes we have experienced. We know some of our students have dealt with anxiety and miss socialization of being on campus. L.J. Davis from the University Counseling Center spoke on mental health. Check back next spring for information on our 2022 symposium.
