Omnipresence: The UWG Journal in Psychology of Gender and Sexuality is open to receiving research papers, theoretical essays, creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art. To be considered, work must engage with both psychology and gender/sexuality studies.

We accept work related to our themes from all undergraduate students of all backgrounds at any institution.

Essay Submissions

  • Essays should not exceed 5,000 words in length, excluding footnotes and bibliography.

Creative Writing and Visual Art Submissions

  • All creative writing and visual art submissions must be accompanied by a Statement of Intent (SOI), 100-150 words or longer, explaining the themes explored in the piece. This is a requirement for review and acceptance.
  • Poetry is limited to five or six poems, not to exceed 2,500 words. Each poem will need its own SOI. Please note that only one poem will be published by a single author, so limit submissions to your best work. You are encouraged to submit one of your strongest poems rather than many.
  • Visual art is limited to one to three pieces. Each piece will need its own SOI.
  • All pieces should be submitted as one document. Do not make multiple submissions.

General Guidelines

  • No AI-generated art or written words will be accepted. Only original undergraduate work should be submitted.
  • Work may be submitted up to six months after graduation.
  • Submission format, including citations, must be in accordance with the current guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA).
  • Please submit all work through this form. All submissions are reviewed anonymously, so make sure to remove any name/identification information.  Once your submission is reviewed, you will receive one of the following replies: (1) acceptance with no further revision, (2) acceptance with minor revision, (3) recommendation for revision and resubmission, or (4) denial.
  • All submissions will undergo a Turnitin check for plagiarism prior to consideration. Any score higher than 20%, including cited sources and quotations, will result in automatic rejection, so please ensure that you turn in original work.
  • After a submission is accepted, you will be asked to sign an author agreement concerning copyright, which requires agreeing to a Creative Commons license prior to publishing.
  • If your work is declined, do not feel discouraged from submitting other work. We encourage everyone to submit despite prior denials, and there is no limit on submission attempts for publication.

Omnipresence thanks you for your consideration in submitting, and our editors hope to receive many amazing works for our first volume!
