About
Newnan is known as "The City of Homes," but it's fast becoming "The City of Arts" as well. The Vault Gallery is a professionally designed space inside Newnan's Wadsworth Auditorium that holds diverse art exhibitions of community interest in the fall through spring. This is thanks to the passion and collaborative efforts of the City of Newnan, the Newnan Artist-in-Residence Program, and UWG's Culture Lab—with special support from both the Hollis and Blackwell charitable trusts.

Wednesday, October 16 / 5-8 p.m.
This year's Blackwell Prize in Painting winner, Atlanta-based artist Charly Palmer, is known for saying “Art should change the temperature in a room.” And for more than 30 years, his art has spoken for itself. In every painting, Palmer bears witness to African ancestry and contemporary experiences—rhythmic, visual stories that shift what each viewer believes. As a fine artist he has an innate awareness of documenting the intricacies of Blackness with depth, patterns, symbols, and textures. See Palmer's recent work in this solo exhibition. Read more
