The “Salute to Superior Service,” initiative gives our division an opportunity to thank others across campus for the help they provide to Business & Finance. There are many people outside our division that provide us with excellent customer service every day.  This program is designed to recognize this kind of superior service and show our appreciation for the people outside of Business & Finance that help us be successful!

The “Salute to Superior Service” program awards the recipient with a thank-you card and a lapel pin to recognize their achievement.  Vice President Sutherland and the Business & Finance Directors review nominations to determine the winners of the award. 


photoKaren West - Software Development Manager, Information Technology Services

Congratulations to the first winner of the award, Karen West.  She was instrumental in designing the “Bookstore to the Rescue” program, and her expertise in designing the technology to support the program was key to its success.  Karen is also an invaluable asset to the Office of Student Accounts and Billing Services’s office.  Her accounting skills and thorough knowledge of the Banner System are a huge help to the staff, and Karen’s courteous and friendly approach makes her a pleasure to work with!

JoEtta Miller has received the Salute to Superior Service pin for her assistance to the Budget Department.  Always a problem solver, JoEtta has a special talent for researching problems and finding the needed answers.  She is friendly and helpful, while displaying a consistently positive attitude toward her work and life in general.  JoEtta always strives to do the best job possible and is a great asset to Business & Finance and the UWG staff!


Patricia Pinkard - Training Coordinator, Arts & Sciences

Patricia Pinkard has been awarded the Salute to Superior Service pin for her work with the Auxiliary Services Department.  Patricia is extremely customer oriented and consistently looks for solutions to challenges.  She influences others to be empathetic toward the customer's situation and is successful in facilitating, or helping to facilitate, the necessary change/accommodations to meet the customer's needs.  The Business & Finance Division appreciates her attitude, promptness, accuracy, and "can do" approach to problem solving!

Michael Harris has received the Salute to Superior Service pin for his assistance to the Auxiliary Services Department.  Michael's help during orientation and summer conferences is greatly appreciated.  And although requests for technical support can often be last minute and requiring immediate attention, Michael is always so positive, so customer friendly, and so patient.  He is a star representative for UWG!
