QEP High-Impact Practices
High-Impact Practices (HIPs)
High-Impact Practices (HIPs) are teaching and learning experiences that help students deepen their learning, apply knowledge in meaningful contexts, and connect academic work to professional, civic, and personal development. At UWG, these practices support the university’s broader commitment to experiential learning and career readiness.
This page serves as a starting point for exploring HIP opportunities and course designations at UWG. Use the links below to learn more about specific HIP areas, review criteria and expectations, and access designation or application information.

How HIPs Connect to the QEP
UWG’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Career Readiness through Experiential Learning, emphasizes the value of experiential learning in helping students connect classroom learning with future goals. HIPs support that work by highlighting learning experiences that promote engagement, reflection, skill development, and applied learning.
