Lecturer of Music

Biography

Emily Hunt earned a Masters in Music from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Since joining the faculty at the University of West Georgia, Ms. Hunt has completed a German degree from UWG and is currently completing coursework towards her PhD in History at Georgia State University. She is interested in studying the sound of protest and resistance and looking at gendered soundscapes, with a hope that we can understand more about the past by analyzing what we hear, not just what we see and read. As a lecturer, Ms. Hunt works to create a vibrant online and face-to-face classroom where students can learn about music as a source of history and its role in our society at home and around the world.
