Newnan - Charles Wadsworth Auditorium

Friday, October 29, 2021 05:30 PM - 08:30 PM

Join us at The Vault Gallery, Newnan, for an exhibition and artist talk by Lilian Garcia-Roig. Roig is a Cuban-born, American painter, and this year's winner of the prestigious Blackwell Prize in Painting. The talk will begin around 6:30 pm. The exhibition is open from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.

"Her most extensive body of works feature large-scale on-site painting installations of dense landscapes that overwhelm the viewer's perceptual senses. Each invididual painting is created over the course of the day in an intense wet-on-et cumulative manner that underscores the complex nature of trying to capture first-hand the multidimensional and every-changing experience of being in that specific location"--Artist's website (https://art.fsu.edu/lilian-garcia-roig/).

Free and open to the public. Coincides with Newnan's Mainstreet Art Walk.

Garcia-Roig will also give an artist talk in Carrollton on October 21, 3:30-4:30 pm, TLC 1305
